Summary

In an effort to escape the pain of her past, Emma Jones answered an advertisement to become a mail order bride。 When she became Adam’s wife, she never imagined that she would be widowed just a few months later。 Alone and with a homestead to care for, she receives an offer from a neighboring cattle rancher that she finds hard to refuse。 But her late husband’s best friend is determined not to let her give up that easily。

Clay Andrews wants nothing more from life than to run his family’s horse ranch。 But duty binds him to watch over his friend’s widow, whether she likes it or not。 And he’s not about to let her run away when things start to get tough。

Emma’s independent spirit and her fear of the secrets of her past being discovered make it hard for her to accept help。 Clay’s sense of responsibility and guilt make it hard for him to leave her alone。 Will either of them be able to lay aside their stubbornness long enough to find some common ground—and maybe even a fresh start and a chance at love?

A good book。 Even though I was given a copy of this book by the author, it in no way influenced my opinion and this is my honest review。

This is a very entertaining book that is easy to read。 The widow is hiding from her past and Clay is all about helping her, which she doesn't want。 The plot is good and the characters are well developed。 The author included some spiritual references that I found very appropriate。 I love it when an author can add in Bible verses or prayers that just seem to flow with the storyline。 And, this author did that quite well。 It was a really good book。 I did receive a copy of the book, but this review i This is a very entertaining book that is easy to read。 The widow is hiding from her past and Clay is all about helping her, which she doesn't want。 The plot is good and the characters are well developed。 The author included some spiritual references that I found very appropriate。 I love it when an author can add in Bible verses or prayers that just seem to flow with the storyline。 And, this author did that quite well。 It was a really good book。 I did receive a copy of the book, but this review is my own opinion。 。。。more

This was a lovely mystery/romance/1880’s story set in Wyoming territory - quick to read and clean。 Tension built in the mystery surrounding the motive of the man wanting to buy widow Jones’ land, the mystery of who was behind and the reason for the shoot up at the Andrews farm, and the journey of Clay to his realisation of who his heart belonged to…。read to find the answers!Recommend!

I received a free advance review copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review。。 Clay wants to help Emma, but she's stubborn and doesn't want his help。 But he is very persistant。 I enjoyed this book and recommend it。 I received a free advance review copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review。。 Clay wants to help Emma, but she's stubborn and doesn't want his help。 But he is very persistant。 I enjoyed this book and recommend it。 。。。more

The characters are really well done。 The plot is interesting with an actual “bad guy” and his intentions to suss out。 And, of course, Clay's siblings are the first to realize he's fallen in love with Emma。 (I love it when the one in love is the last to realize it!)
